All the Latest from Torsade!

In this week’s installment of A Figure from the Common Lot, Honoré, though certain he is still a prisoner, leaves his room — a sign to Broughton that he is ready to begin his training. In the second part of “Bad Counsel”, Andrée’s sense of unwelcomeness begins to seem like evidence of a trend. The twenty-third Hammersmith episode, “View Halloo”, has Hogben, and then Vic, feeling himself drawn into shady affairs.
Part One of a new essay debuted this week: “On Taste: You and Society”. The aim of this piece is to examine how arbitration of taste by entities becomes a protected source of reputation and income. The fifth Pale Knight, from the Folly series, “The Zone of Prophecy”, has the guest explaining by what measures a figure of doom, such as the alleged apparition, might be considered authentic. In Are You Haunted, part three, Powell drives Mrs. Drybrook’s car back to the house, and tries enlisting Dennis Tovey and Isobel in his scheme. Finally, “Peckish” is a fable without a moral, staring a duck, some weasels, a blue heron, and a cat.
Photos on my posts usually have a link to related information, sometimes serious, sometimes whimsical, sometimes in answer to a direct reference. Since people can be leery about clicking links, I include them here: what they are, what sites they point to.
